Prince Rock/Woodland Fort 12 Plymouth Argaum Chiefs 0
(9th September 2000, k.o. 15:00 Bull Point)

An early exit from the Tetley Bitter Vase but the Chiefs were left wondering what might have been had they captialised on a sustained period of first half pressure.

In a typically close fought cup-tie the two teams largely cancelled each other out, but the turning point in the match came in the 2nd quarter when the Chiefs failed to score after a series of scrums near the PRWF line. In the second half ill-discipline cost Argaum dearly as PRWF landed 3 penalties and a drop goal. Argaum can take plus points from this game though, with some powerful scrummaging, strong defence and some good counter-attacking moves from the backs. Plenty to work on; the teams meet again in the league in three weeks.(RB)
Argaum Team : Tomlinson, D.Morgan, P.Morgan, Hall, Wills, A.Critchley(c), Lemon (Louise), Richardson, Eldridge, McDowell, Davey, Griffiths, Moulder, Foster, Belli.
