This was the 3rd meeting between these two young colts sides with the spoils of the two previous encounters having been shared. Argaum started slowly and were guilty of allowing the ball to bounce on the hard surface which led directly to two home tries, both of which were converted.

Totnes missed a penalty kick shortly afterwards but when Argaum did finally exert some pressure it yielded two penalties which Jake Turfrey duly converted. A further penalty chance for the visitors just before the interval almost resulted in a try but Dan Smith was held up over the line. After the break Argaum simplified their game plan and gained territory through the pack which was gaining the upper hand. With a solid platform Argaum were able to pick and drive and this resulted in tries for Dan Smith and no.8 Sam Russell. Totnes repeated their opponents first half mistake and when they allowed a long range kick to bounce it was followed up by Jared Williams who raced in from 40 yards out to score in the corner. To their credit the home side didnt give up and came back with a score of their own when the left winger ran in from a good backs move.

Argaum Line-up: Belli, Edwards, Smith, Cardell, Haywood, Ashton, Russell, Sargent, Glanfield, Turfrey, Blake, Phillips, Williams, Stevens, Bretall; reps: Dickins, Butterworth, Vitalino, Stafford.
