The A and B Teams The A and B Teams

There was a very rare occasion on Sunday of all Plymouth Argaum competitive match when Plymouth Argaum 'A' took on Plymouth Argaum 'B' in the Cornwall Clubs Colts Sevens. In what was a beautiful day at Launceston Argaum fielded two sides against clubs from all over Cornwall and Devon.

They competed admirably with the 'A' team gaining a good win over St Austell and the 'B' team coming back from 3 tries down against Tavistock to narrowly go down 15-14. What was encouraging for the future was that Argaum fielded a sprinkling of Under 16s in the teams, and they didnt look out of place. The 'A' team eventually gained a bye to the Plate Final whilst the 'B' team won a terrific match against Liskeard on a drop-kick shoot out after the match had finished all square at 3 tries a piece.

In the final itself the 'B' team took a two try lead at half time before a great comeback for the 'A' team with two tries, the second scored by Under 16 Hayden Baugh in the last play of the game. So to another drop-goal shoot out and it was the 'A' team who held their nerve to clinch the Plate trophy, captain Tom Belli picking up the trophy. All in all a great day's entertainment and the spirit the Argaum sides showed surely won them some new friends.
