Another fine tour this time arranged by Paul Venkort. After the previous year's crucifixion in Cardiff there was talk of duckings in the Trent until it was realised how polluted that particular river is.

Nevertheless water was eventually found by Mr Johnson at Bakewell who could have provided material for one of Andy Rees' in-coach lectures on strange Marine Life. There was the first tour win in living memory over Friday's opponents Nottingham Moderns, which was rectified the following day with a defeat at Bakewell. The Wormeaters returned with stories of sausage-filled Yorkshire puddings at Bakewell which compounds the dissapointment for those who missed this tour.
