Old Technicians hardly deserved to lose a robust game by three tries to pil, for their attack was frequently the more constructive. With Smithfield, their elusive scrum-half, as the pivot, they had Argaum worried in the early stages, but lacked stamina. Handling was poor because of the high wind, and after the home backs had missed several chances, the forwards took control. P. Wood made the only score of the first half, and further tries were added by J. Burns and R. Heeley.
