Stonehouse fielded a very big and physical side and this meant that the Tigers had an up hill struggle from the first minute. With both George Clarke and Daniel Challinor missing from the pack the Tigers were without their two biggest players and Stonehouse quickly made their size pay dividends forcing over the first of several tries.

However, the Plymouth Argaum boys did not give up and their quicker and more agile backs got close to breaking through the Stonehouse defence on several occasions.  Late in the first half Kal Bloomfield scored the first of Argaum's two tries, which was converted by Jez Cramoysan.

The second half was very much like the first with Stonehouse's bigger pack forcing the Argaum side on to the back foot at the breakdowns and in the loose play.  To their credit the Tigers did not loose heart and Guy Webber came close to scoring and Kaine Withers again crossed the line only to have his try disallowed.  Kal scored his second try of the match with a jinking run from deep in his own half but Stonehouse maintained their lead and finally won the game by a big margin.  The final score was a reflection of difference in the size of the two teams rather than any difference in ability.  Taking into consideration that Sam Sutcliffe was playing his first game and Matthew Howard only his second both did sterling work in the second row.  Man of the match was awarded to Guy Webber for his leadership in a difficult game.  Well done to all the boys for sticking to the task right to the final whistle.

The final score Stonehouse sharks 35  Plymouth Argaum Tigers 14.
