TigersU14/Launceston/Lankelly-Fowey
Missing several regulars Plymouth Argaum Under14s were only able to take a bare 15 to a rain-soaked Lankelly-Fowey but they gave a good account of themselves in this 3 way match.
Tigers U14 5 Newton Abbot 21
This was a much improved performance by the Tigers which enabled them to restrict a talented Newton Abbot side to 3 first half tries whilst coming back after the interval for one of their own. Despite the wet conditions both sides attempted to move the ball as much as possible which made for a good spectacle.
Bodmin U14 36 Tigers 29
This was a superb advert for Under 14 rugby played in perfect conditions at Clifden Park. The vistors made a bright start and opened the scoring through skipper Carl Turner who went over in the corner; this was added to shortly after with a touchdown from wing George Glover who posed a constant threat throughout the match.
Argaum Under-14 25, Salcombe Under-14 26
Both sides fielded combined Under 14/13 sides and it proved to be a fitting finale to the morning's proceedings, a physical encounter with some determined tackling from both sides. David Collier opened the scoring for the home side with a well balanced run from the halfway line, Leon Clarke and Ieuan Evans also crossed the whitewash for a 15-5 half time lead. Salcombe came back determindly after the interval with three converted tries, but in an exciting last quarter Nick Bywater touched down after a bulldozing run. Ieuan Evans crossed for a second time after quick-thinking from a tap penalty to leave the result in the balance until the end.
